Housebound Noah and Kyle's First Bath

Since Kyle was born over 3 weeks ago, we have been a bit house bound. When this happens, we must find new and exciting ways to entertain ourselves. We have learned this week that Noah has terrific stacking abilities.

When Uncle Brian was here, he spent a lot of time teaching Noah new and wonderful things!

Kyle finally got his first bath last weekend. His umbilical cord had taken over 2 weeks to fall off, so we had to wait on the tub bath until then. Poor guy--he hates being cold! But the actual bath seemed to be okay in his book.

I had to search long and hard to find a bath pic that didn't have inappropriate baby nudity involved. =) He really did seem to enjoy the warm water and smelled a whole lot better after we were done with him!

A proud big brother! I have other cute shots of Noah, but they include graphic baby nudity, so I chose this one. Noah's job was to take a plastic measuring cup and keep dipping it into the water and then pouring the water over Kyle's feet and legs to keep him warm. He took the job very seriously! He has proven to be a big helper where Brother is concerned. He throws away dirty diapers, fetches binkies and clean diapers, and even got a clean baby blanket out of the dryer for me the other day. We asked him how he felt about Kyle, and he said, "Good! I like him a lot!" He doesn't always act like he wants to be near him, but he seems to like him. =)

Comments, Anyone??

It was brought to my attention that some of you were unable to comment on our blog unless you were registered users. I've reset my settings so that anyone can comment, and you shouldn't have to sign up for any type of account.

Also, to clear up any confusion, here are the "real" Thing 1 and Thing 2. Remember these mischievous little guys from The Cat and the Hat?? =) Seems like the perfect nicknames for 2 stinkery little boys!

New Pictures!

Okay. All my pics ended up out of order and I'm not liking that. So if this post seems random, you'll know it's not my fault! Apparently when you upload the pictures, it puts the last ones you've uploaded to the top of the post. Anyway, this is another pic from when Brian was here. Noah is also trying out his new Backyardigans guitar that he received from all of Daddy's friends at ComTek.

Kyle again tasting his blanket.

Kyle in his Baby Papasan chair. Dad sure makes a good baby burrito, doesn't he?!

Did I mention that Kyle likes to try to taste his blanket with his tongue? He'll keep sticking it out until he finds it.

We've been taking lots of pics of Kyle in the last few days. You forget how quickly a newborn changes.

If you're able to access this site and view pics, feel free to comment and tell me about it! I want to make sure this site is just as easy to use as the previous one.

Here is Kyle in his favorite chair. The Baby Papasan is a Godsend for any parent of a fussy newborn.

Is this a cute foot or what??

Inspecting the new kangaroo that Charlene and Gordon sent. Noah thought it was really cool that this mama kangaroo had a baby attached!

Another pair of hands! Oh, I mean my wonderful brother Brian, AKA Uncle Brian here visiting for a few days and helping me out. Having another adult around to talk to during the day didn't hurt my feelings either.

I have quite a few more pictures to show off, but I'm off to try to get some sleep. It seems Chris and I are somehow lacking in that department lately. Kyle is giving us three hour stretches during the night, and we're hoping to space that out even more! Send us sleep vibes over here!!

Okay, so for next time, I'll work on ordering the pics correctly.

=)

K, Promise This is the Last One

Here are a couple more pictures from the day we left the hospital. Here is Chris with our Thing 1 and Thing 2 (sorry Shannon, HAD to steal that one!):

Here is Mimi, Chris' Mom, with Kyle, who still loves to try to eat his hands, sleeves, and blankets:

Still Figuring This Out

Another attempt at posting pics. I think I can figure this out. I'm still deciding whether or not I want to switch though. On Babysites, you can get a keepsake CD with all of your pics and journals to save forever! So who knows...but this is fun too.

Don't you just love the look on Noah's face here? I'm not too sure what this expression means. He had just met Kyle minutes earlier, and I think is unsure what to think of the mini-human that Mommy is holding.

A New Fam Blog?

I SO don't know how to use this website, but a friend just started one on blogger.com and it turned out really nice. So I've decided to give it a shot. I like the format. If I can just figure out how to do this, all will be great!
I haven't yet figured out how to really post pics here, so here's an attempt at it.
Here's a pic of Noah holding Little Bro, Kyle. If this is a success, I'll try for more!
